Fashion students from Fashion Design Institute visit John Lobb SAS in Paris

The Düsseldorf fashion school "Fashion Design Institut" is always good for a surprise when it comes to giving its fashion students special insights into the world of fashion. This time, the Fashion Design Institute has come up with a trip to Paris for October 8, 2021, with the aim of visiting the world-famous shoe manufacturer John Lobb SAS.

The founder of the company John Lobb (1829-1895) was already called "shoemaker of kings and king of shoemakers" by the British royal family during his lifetime for his superbly crafted and therefore quite expensive shoes. Even today, John Lobb strives to live up to this high praise - and its success proves the label right. Along with an independent sister company based in London, the Parisian label John Lobb now belongs to the French fashion group Hermès, but in addition to its ready-to-wear line, it still manufactures high-quality shoes made to measure. This is one of the reasons why the Fashion Design Institute visited the John Lobb SAS atelier to show its fashion students how the exclusive shoes are made.

How are custom shoes designed? How are they manufactured? What processes are set in motion so that a shoe fits like a glove on the foot? All these questions will be answered for the budding designers from the Fashion Design Institute during their visit to John Lobb's atelier. In the process, they can gather priceless impressions that only an on-site visit can give them. Only here can they experience the atmosphere of the world in which they will later work.
