Budding fashion designers of the Fashion Design Institute visited the house Schiaparelli
Elsa Schiaparelli always enjoyed provocation. It was basically even her business model, back in the 1930s, at the height of her creativity in Paris. Elisa Schiaparelli combined the offbeat with the elegant. Her passion for art and her talent as a networker made the designer at times more popular than Coco Chanel. The latter was Eliza Schiaparelli's archrival during her lifetime - and the rivalry between the two haute couture houses remains to this day.
Students of the Fashion Design Institute were able to admire the current haute couture collection during a visit to Schiaparelli in Paris and learned once again that haute couture blurs the boundaries between art and wearable fashion. The future fashion designers were given a detailed description of how haute couture is created, from the inspiration process to the production of the elaborate and extraordinary works of art in terms of cuts and materials. And if that wasn't enough, the CEO of Schiaparelli personally showed the students of the Fashion Design Institute the new sales rooms of Maison Schiaparelli - a special pleasure and a great honor for all participants of this extraordinary trip.
