Feeling like Emily in Paris - La Galerie Bourbon enchants FDI graduates and Netflix viewers

The Fashion Design Institut Düsseldorf (FDI) could not be prouder of the incredible success of its graduates' fashion show in Paris. The event took place in July 2022 at La Galerie Bourbon, a majestic 18th century building originally used for receptions and galas for the royal court. It's no surprise, then, that it was likewise chosen as the filming location for the hit television series Emily in Paris.

The series follows Emily Cooper, an American marketing executive who moves to Paris after earning her master's degree to pursue her career as a social media expert for a major fashion company. Viewers are intrigued by the dramatic and romantic scenes that ensue as Emily learns about French culture. The romantic scenes between Emily and her boyfriend Gabriel were shot against the backdrop of the Galerie Bourbon.

Romanticism meets design

The Fashion Design Institute show was a great success. The Bourbon Gallery provided an exquisite setting to showcase the work of the graduates. The atmosphere was truly electrifying as guests and press from around the world gathered to see the creativity, skill and artistry of the graduates of the Düsseldorf Fashion School.

The juxtaposition of our fashion show with Emily in Paris was interesting for us to observe: Two different events showcasing the beauty of Paris - one celebrating fashion design, the other romance - and both taking place in this culturally rich location.

The Bourbon Gallery is a visual feast with stunning architecture that dates back to 1718. From the baroque facade to the extravagant decor inside, it is certainly a fitting place for such special occasions.

La Galerie Bourbon - forever associated with the Fashion Design Institute Düsseldorf

The success of our fashion school's Paris show is certainly a testament to the hard work and dedication of our graduates. We are pleased to have a lasting connection with La Galerie Bourbon that will be remembered for many years to come. The venue is now even more iconic thanks to its inclusion in "Emily in Paris", and we hope to host many more events there in the future!

It remains one of the most beautiful venues in all of Paris, and we feel privileged to have been able to hold our event there. We look forward to seeing what other fantastic memories will be made in this stunning venue in the years to come.
